We LOVE Mathematics in 5/6P!!
Percentages, Fractions and Decimals
5/6P have been exploring percentages, fractions and decimals. Students created their own picture or pattern on a blank 100 grid. They counted how many squares of each colour and coloured in the same amount on a new blank grid. Students then wrote each colour as a percentage, fraction, decimal and in words. Some students even simplified the fraction to its lowest term!
This activity was highly engaging and all students connected percentages, fractions and decimals as different representations of the same value and could convert between them.
