Environmental Club

Term 2 Week 4 Report:

We enjoyed making fresh lemonade on Friday using school-grown lemons to make lemon juice then adding sugar dissolved in water. Thanks to Mr Garry and Troy for buying seed potatoes for us to plant next week!

Term Two is off to a great start with an increase in students joining in with Environmental Club.

There is no Environmental Club on Mondays, but it is on every other day at Recess. Students can join in every day or once a week and they will be made very welcome. Cooking with produce from our school garden this Friday was Spinach and Ricotta Rolls. We used a lot of spinach and eggs from our hens in this week's recipe.

Thank you to Mr Garry, who developed a lot of geranium cuttings from his garden. The younger students enjoyed planting their own little flower out and watering it in.

He has also designed two special chook buckets on stands beside our mixed waste bins. These are only for crusts and food scraps for the hens please. No rubbish!

Welcome to Warnervale Environmental Club!

Mrs Niemkiewicz, Mrs Love and Mrs Jacobs are the Environmental Club teachers for 2018.

We meet every day at Recess so come along and try something new!

Our Senior students lead the way as Garden Gurus, showing younger students the safe and correct use of tools and how to handle the chickens respectfully. Each Friday, students who have volunteered are invited to cook. So far this year we made Brushcetta with tomatoes and basil from our school garden. We also made French Toast with eggs from our school hens!
